The 2018 International Conference on the Properties and Applications of Dielectric Materials (ICPADM) is the 12th meeting of this conference series. ICPADM started in Xi’an in 1985 with the initial aim to provide a venue for Chinese electrical insulation and dielectrics researchers to communicate their research activities with the rest of the world. The IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society undertook the sponsorship of the new conference, which had its first meeting in June 24-28, 1985. More than 400 attendees made it a very successful meeting and it was decided to establish ICPADM as a continuing event on a triennial basis and to broaden its scope to cover the general Asia-Pacific region. Actually ICPADM attendees are from many countries outside the Asia-Pacific region. 


ICPADM has a long history. The conference venues are: Xi’an China (1985, 1st ICPADM), Beijing China (1988, 2nd ICPADM), Tokyo Japan (1991, 3rd ICPADM), Brisbane Australia (1994, 4th ICPADM), Seoul Korea (1997, 5th ICPADM), Xi’an China (2000, 6th ICPADM), Nagoya Japan (2003, 7th ICPADM), Bali Indonesia (2006, 8th ICPADM), Harbin China (2009, 9th ICPADM), Bangalore India (2012, 10th ICPADM), Sydney Australia (2015, 11th ICPADM). 


ICPADM 2018 will go back to Xi’an, China again. It will be sponsored by the IEEE/DEIS and organized by Xi’an Jiaotong University, State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Power Equipment. It is our honor and pleasure to invite you to participate in the forthcoming International Conference on the Properties and Applications of Dielectric Materials (ICPADM). 

 

Liu Ziyu Memorial Lecture

Liu Ziyu Memorial Lecture was established in ICPADM 1994, to commemorate the contribution of Prof. Liu Ziyu to the conference. Prof. Liu was the General Chairman of the first ICPADM conference. The previous speakers are Masayuki Ieda (1994), A.H.Cookson (1997), Kwan C. Kao (2000), W. Boeck (2003), G. C. Montanari (2006), Christian Laurent (2009), J Keith Nelson (2012) and Shengtao Li (2015).

  

Best Paper Awards

Prizes of $500USD each will be awarded to the 4 (2 oral and 2 poster) best papers of the Conference. To be eligible for consideration, the papers must be orally or poster presented by the first author who is a full-time postgraduate student.

  

Stipends

An amount of $300USD will be provided for up to 6 fulltime student authors to help offset travel expenses. Applicants must be the first author of a paper accepted for oral presentation at this Conference and reside from overseas countries. Receipt of 500 word abstract:

5 October31 October, 2017

Provisional acceptance notification:

5 November, 15 November 2017

Receipt of full papers:

5 January 2018

Notification of final acceptance:

5 February 2018

Authors may request early notification of final acceptance so to have sufficient time for making travel arrangement. Please contact ICPADM Secretariat.
